Zero-inflated-censored Weibull and gamma regression models to estimate wild boar population dispersal distance

چکیده

Abstract The dynamics of the wild boar population has become a pressing issue not only for ecological purposes, but also agricultural and livestock production. data related to dispersal distance can have complex structure, including excess zeros right-censored observations, thus being challenging modeling. In this sense, we propose two different zero-inflated-right-censored regression models, assuming Weibull gamma distributions. First, present construction likelihood function, then, apply both models simulated datasets, demonstrating that behave well. simulation results point consistency asymptotic unbiasedness developed methods. Afterwards, adjusted dataset dispersal, zeros, covariates: age sex. We showed were useful extract inferences about correctly describing mimicking situation where males disperse more than females, positive effect on boars. These are overcome some limitations regarding in especially concerning boar’s population. Users will be provided with an R function run proposed models.

Adjusting for covariates in zero-inflated gamma and zero-inflated log-normal models for semicontinuous data

Semicontinuous data consist of a combination of a point-mass at zero and a positive skewed distribution. This type of non-negative data distribution is found in data from many fields, but presents unique challenges for analysis. Specifically, these data cannot be analyzed using positive distributions, but distributions that are unbounded are also likely a poor fit. Two-part models incorporate b...

Zero inflated Poisson and negative binomial regression models: application in education

Background: The number of failed courses and semesters in students are indicatorsof their performance. These amounts have zero inflated (ZI) distributions. Using ZI Poisson and negative binomial distributions we can model these count data to find the associated factors and estimate the parameters. This study aims at to investigate the important factors related to the educational performance of ...

Influence diagnostics in exponentiated-Weibull regression models with censored data

Diagnostic methods have been an important tool in regression analysis to detect anomalies, such as departures from the error assumptions and the presence of outliers and influential observations with the fitted models. The literature provides plenty of approaches for detecting outlying or influential observations in data sets. In this paper, we follow the local influence approach (Cook 1986) in...

Conditional decomposition diagnostics for regression analysis of zero-inflated and left-censored data.

Health and safety studies that entail both incidence and magnitude of effects produce semi-continuous outcomes, in which the response is either zero or a continuous positive value. Zero-inflated left-censored models typically employ latent mixture constructions to allow different covariate processes to impact the incidence versus the magnitude. Assessment of the model, however, requires a focus...
